AutoForm Powerful UI
Transcript: In this simulation video, we compare results using AutoForm’s powerful viewing tools to compare two different process options which produce different results. So let’s get the video playing for you. On the left hand side, you can see we have a pre cut blank. This could be laser blank. It could be tooling cut blank. But regardless, the profile is cut into the blank before forming, and we can see that in this case, we end up with notch sensitivity, which concentrates stresses and strains, which then stretches the material in that local area beyond the forming limits. And we can quantify that with the thinning values. And we can determine that if we use this process on the left, we are indeed going to have a split. If we modify the process so that we have a post trimming operation, we can avoid this problem entirely altogether. So using side by side and even in some cases, comparing four different simulations at once, we can quickly and easily compare simulation results on the same screen at the same time to assess different process options and make decisions regarding process before any steel is cut for tooling, very powerful tools in auto form to compare results side by side.
