Non Linear Examples
Nonlinear ExamplesMost product designs and manufacturing processes exhibit complex and nonlinear behavior due to sliding contacts with friction between parts and nonlinear materials, like metals, under large and permanent deformation, solder joints, shape memory alloys, composites, cast iron, plastic, rubber, viscoelastic, nonlinear creep, etc.
To predict performance accurately and subsequently optimize design, you must employ a simulation solution, like ANSYS, that supports mathematical modeling and solution of highly nonlinear behavior. Nonlinear solution technologies from ANSYS offer best-in-class simulation tools for product design and optimization which increase productivity, minimize physical prototyping, and help deliver better and innovative products in less time. ANSYS nonlinear is built upon years of proven and reliable technology and is widely used across industries from automobile, aerospace, biomedical, electronics and consumer products.

Dynamics Examples
Most product designs and manufacturing processes exhibit complex dynamic behavior of one or more parts in an assembly. To predict performance accurately and subsequently optimize design, you must employ a simulation solution, like ANSYS, that supports mathematical modeling and solution of highly dynamic behavior. The ANSYS software allows to model rigid assemblies, flexible components or any combination of rigid and flexible bodies, using a wide range of methods as shown below.

Sheet Metal Stamping Simulation

How it works
SimulateComplete® - Complete Process Engineering
Step 1: Provide a 3D model of the product design
The client has product design geometry (the part). The product design data is transferred to StampingSimulation engineers by choosing to Start a Job Now.
Step 2: Forming process engineered
A forming process is engineered to the client's specifications. Input and guidance may be provided by the client, or StampingSimulation can develop the entire process independently.
Step 3: Proven with simulation
The engineered process is tested with simulation and re-engineered with simulation until a feasible forming process is developed.
Step 4: Results delivered
Once a successful forming process is engineered, the requested data outputs are generated and sent to the client. For example, the client may choose to give the tooling surfaces to their tool designer (saving a significant amount of time in the design of the tool), and may wish to cut their first blank from the developed blank shape data.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SimulateLite® - Virtual Tryout
Step 1: Provide existing 3D tool design data
The customer has a an existing tool or process design and wishes to see it simulated to check for splits wrinkles or other forming problems. The tool design data is transferred to StampingSimulation.com engineers by choosing to Start a Job Now.
Step 2: Simulation setup
Using the client's tooling data and material properties, StampingSimulation.com sets up the simulation, ready for calculation.
Step 3: Virtual tryouts performed
The simulation is calculated using the worldclass AutoForm sheet metal forming simulation software. Predicted problems are identified and then addressed by applying appropriate countermeasures. The virtual tryout process is repeated until all problems are eliminated.
Step 4: Results delivered
The results are delivered electronically to the customer or reviewed via an online meeting. Practical simulation outputs are delivered to the client for use in the real world.
