  • Ford Reverses Decision

     There are reports that Ford will not be building its compact Kuga SUV at the Louisville Assembly Plant.

    Despite that report in the Bloomberg News, Ford officials say the renovations at the plant will continue.

    In the Bloomberg report stating that production of the Kuga will remain in Germany, Ford officials are quoted as saying "we are not providing details. We intend to fully utilize capacity at the transformed facility."

    Ford is still expected to build the Escape at the Louisville plant.

    Ford had planned to move production of the Kuga to Louisville from Germany to take advantage of lower labor costs and the weaker dollar, but the declining value of the Euro caused the aboutface.
