While many local businesses are losing market share and profit during the downturn, a local subcontractor is actually growing stronger. Anpec Industries is a machining subcontractor for the construction and automotive sectors. Much of its business is making parts for Honda ATVs and motorcycles.
But when most of us stopped buying these toys, Anpec switched gears. A growing agriculture business has resulted in a surge in demand causing them to add some temporary workers to the payroll. But the success doesn't stop there. Anpec CEO Brad Wagner recently invented a device called a Carpal Roller to alleviate Carpal Tunnel Syndrome."When things got so slow, I thought, 'I have a whole manufacturing facility here. Why can't we come up with a product?' And that's what really got my wheels turning is I thought, 'Why not have a product?' and I'm actually working on another product as well for different ailments for people," says Wagner.
The Carpal Roller is not only for Carpal Tunnel sufferers but also alleviates tennis and golf elbow.- Article Source: wifr.com
